After a wonderful Christmas break, we couldn't wait to get back to our fabulous singers! Our first two YMS rehearsals have been so much fun. It was great to see so many returning friends, and meet some new ones as well!

Our songs this session are taken from Broadway, the world of pop and even some old standards thrown in. It has already been so fun to see these young kids excitedly singing "You've Gotta Have Heart" and tapping their toes to "Accentuate the Positive." One of the biggest thrills is that we get to introduce great music from many genres to the singers. Where else are kids going to hear music from Frank Sinatra, the Carpenters, Charlie Brown and Uncle Kracker--all in one place? YMS, of course!

The singers should be singing along to their CDs as much as possible, to familiarize themselves with all the new music for the season. Some easy ways to work in that practicing time: play the CD in the car, while they are getting ready for bed and in the kitchen when setting the table, emptying the dishwasher, etc. It will help the time go faster, and get some good practicing time in, as well!
Auditions for solos, duets and small groups are coming up on February 2nd! Can't wait!
